Toronto Youth STEM & Innovation Conference Chair

The Toronto Youth STEM & Innovation Conference (TYSIC) is annual student-led event that introduces high school students to groundbreaking advancements in STEM. As Chair, I lead a 14-member executive committee dedicated to fostering critical thinking and bridging gaps in access to STEM opportunities. My goal is to inspire and empower students by connecting them with industry experts, encouraging them to explore new ideas, and facilitating collaboration on innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Relay For Life Head

As the school Chair for COSSOT Relay For Life, I lead fundraising and marketing efforts across our community, creating promotional videos and using fun challenges like mascot races to boost participation. To raise awareness about cancer’s impact, we held survivor story sessions, educating participants on prevention, early detection, and the importance of ongoing research. These efforts not only raised over $325,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society but also brought together more than 1,000 participants, making it one of the largest Relay event in Canadian history. COSSOT Relay for life became the first team to raise $1 million within just five years of its establishment. Collaborating with other school Chairs, we built a vibrant, fun, and meaningful event that brought the community together in support of the fight against cancer.

Student Council President

I love serving as Student Council President and acting as a bridge between the student body and school administration.

I manage our council’s budget and lead community fundraisers like the Thanksgiving food drive (1000+ items donated) and cookie dough sale. Each year, we introduce new projects to enhance student life—installing charging stations, updating uniforms, and improving facilities like water fountains. We also introduced “town hall” meetings, creating a platform for open dialogue where students can voice their concerns and actively shape the direction of our school community.

Since the beginning of Grade 9, I’ve committed 2 hours each week to volunteering at Michael Garron Hospital in the Emergency Room, Front Desk, and MRI. I’ve taken on a variety of roles, from arranging patient rooms to ensure a comfortable environment, to delivering samples to labs for timely processing, all while helping improve patient flow. Acting as a liaison between patients and healthcare professionals, I’ve facilitated clear communication and eased anxieties during critical moments. I’ve also trained more than 20 new volunteers, enhancing service efficiency and fostering a compassionate, patient-centred atmosphere.
